Hi, I’m Xuci~

I’m a multidisciplinary designer specializing in research-driven experience and service design. Born and raised in China, at 18, I moved to the UK to study Architecture, and I’m now in Chicago pursuing my Master of Design in Human-Computer Interaction at the IIT Institute of Design.

I've been always fascinated by how people live, think, and connect, and I use design to help create more fulfilling lives. My process adapts to the realities of each context, blending qualitative and quantitative research, analysis, synthesis, participatory design, and storytelling. I value bold, imaginative ideas, but I care just as deeply about their feasibility, ensuring they can be meaningfully implemented.

I see design as a garden. Projects begin as seeds, shaped by research and nourished through creation and collaboration with diverse disciplines and communities. Welcome to my design garden. Wander around and see what’s growing.

Aside from design...

I rescued my cat Hua Hua from a neglectful owner. She’s my daily reminder of empathy and care.

I’m a tarot reader. It’s how I help people outside of design, and it’s also my own wellspring of imagination and calm.

Driven by curiosity: life is short, so I seek experiences. Through travel, film, books, and conversations, I explore diverse lives and cultures. It's my external inspiration and way to enrich life’s tapestry.

A story collector through photography. I capture places and moments imbued with beauty, building my personal archive of memory.

Thank you for wandering through my little garden of work!

I'm excited to discuss how we can grow something amazing together.
